Aviator

Problem Statement:
Ultimate test of your skills of Remote Control Flight Simulation involving lots of manuevers and stunts.

Rules and Regulations:

  • Round 1: Prelims
    • You have to perform the following maneuvers.
    • You can choose/design your own plane.
    • The maneuvers are as under:
      • Immelman Turn: 1/2 looping up followed by half a roll. There should be no pause between the end of the looping section and the start of the roll to erect flight.
      • Inverted Loop: Vertical loop in which plane remains inverted at start and end of the loop.
      • Avalanche: This is the basic loop with a roll (usually a snap roll) at the top of the loop. The roll has to be centered at the top of the loop.
  • Round 2: Finals
    • Plane to be used will be unveiled after prelims.
    • You will be given 10 minutes (8 minutes: Maneuvers + 2 minutes: Landing) for this round.
    • You have to take-off, perform maneuvers and land successfully.
    • Failure in proper landing will lead to reduction of points.

    Scores will be awarded for the following maneuvers:
    1. Go under go: There will be a rectangular obstacle and you have to loop its roof.
    2. Passing through rings: 2-D and 3-D rings will be placed in the flight path. Participant has to pass the plane through them without any interference with them.

Team Specifications:

  • A team can consist of a maximum of 2 students.

Scoring:

  • Round 1
    Immelman Turn:10 points
    Inverted Loop:10 points
    Avalanche:10 points
    Landing:30 points
    * Judges can vary the point depending upon landing skills.
  • Round 2
    1. Go Under Go
      • 50 points for each loop.
      • - 30 points in case your plane gets damaged any way.
    2. Passing through rings
      • 10 points for each passing through each ring (2-D).
      • 20 points for each passing through each ring (3-D).
      • 2 bonus points for each continuous pass (2-D only).
      • 50 points for landing.
      • - 30 points in case your plane gets damaged any way.

If any of the 3 (Go under Go or 2D rings or 3D rings) is not performed, 100 points will be deducted from the final score.


Note: In case of any disputes, the decision of the organizers would be final and binding to all.
