ARTICLE WRITING

If you are interested in any specific topic in astronomy, write up an article based on your interest. It need not be highly technical, write about anything from evolution of telescopes, future of the milky way to the Hubble’s constant. Material and presentation will be judged.

  • Last date for submission of articles : 24th September, 11:59 pm.
  • Articles should be submitted to the coordinators or the Astronomy Club secretaries in the respective halls.

ASTRO QUIZ

Think you know your constellations? Here's the chance to show off. Crack the questions that will range from theoretical astronomy, backyard stargazing to popular culture references.There will be a written preliminary round from which the top 6 teams will qualify for the final round. The final round will be normal quizzing.

Teams of 3. Please bring pens along with you for the prelims.


STAR HUNT

  • Preliminary Round: Naked eye observations. Teams that can point out the maximum number of objects in the least time will progress to the finals (Number of objects gets the preference). Objects will have various difficulty levels, ranging from constellations, planets, famous stars to messier objects. Teams of 3.
  • Final Round: Top 6 teams from the elimination round will progress to final round. Final round will be telescope aided observation. Teams will be given a set of stars and messier objects which they have to focus on using the telescope. The team that covers the maximum number of objects wins. In case of tie, we resort to the time taken and the team which takes minimum time wins.
  • Registration: To register fill up this FORM.
  • Team Specification: Each team should have 3 members.
