“I have always imagined that paradise will be a kind of library.”
The quote hits us just right but you don’t need to just restrict to imagining such a heaven; because we at the Book Club, aim to bring down that paradise- loaded with a diverse collection of books and not to mention, comfy bean-bags for the feel of it. Whether you are new to the world of books or a dedicated bookworm, we got your back! Our collections include Fiction, Non-Fiction, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Classics, Poetry, Drama, Collections, Comics, Popular Science, Self Help, Romance, Biographies, Autobiographies, and even regional novels in Bengali and Hindi.
In general, we conduct events that range from novel-based competitions, regular book discussions and fun get-togethers to our flagship event, The Halloween Party! Last year, the Club also released its first-ever podcast in accord with the IITK Podcast Project. This podcast talks about the tropes, class authors, their august style, screen adaptations and other general regards of Detective Fiction. This year, we conducted Scavenger Hunt ’20, an online book-themed event as a part of the Freshers’ Competitions.
The SAC Book Club is maintained and operated by a team of 3 coordinators and 14 secretaries who work on a completely voluntary basis. During the offline semester, the club opens 7 days a week, for 1 hour on weekdays (9-10pm) and 2 hours on the weekends (8-10pm). However, we make the best of the online semester too with
