Minors – Y12

All the details about Minor programmes in the various departments are appended below. Please go here to see the information page for last years Minor programmes. Some of the details involved may have changed, so the final authority whose word you should trust is the DUGC Convener of the Department.

Aerospace Engineering

Please see the following mail by the student member of the AE DUGC:

Anurag,

Please circulate the following details, about the Minor program in
Aerospace Engineering, to all the Y12 students and update the details on
the website.

You can obtain a minor in the AE department by doing the following courses -

*AE201A - Compulsory
And any three of the following courses -
*AE211A
*AE321A
*AE311A
*AE650

There are 10 seats for the Minor Program. If the total number of
applicants exceed 10, the selection will be based on CPI. There is NO LAST
DATE from the side of the department. Students applying for a minor after
the Add-Drop period may be given a couple of extra days to do add-drop
manually. However, interested students are advised to contact Mr. Pronabh
at the AE Office ASAP as this extension will not be for more than 2-3
days.

Dear Anurag,
Here are the details you have asked for.
1. Deadline and location for application:
Submit the application to the Chemistry Department office by 5:00 PM on 
31st July.
2. Point of Contact:
Ms. Sudha Pathak for submitting the application and the DUGC convener 
for any required information.
3. Criteria for Selection:
We take a maximum of six students for the three Minor programs combined 
and the selection is based on CPI.
4. Courses in the Minor:
     1. MINOR IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY
         Prerequisites: CHM101 A, CHM102 A
         Basket of courses: any 4 courses from the following basket. The 
basket contains two department core courses, and selected electives:
         CHM345A, CHM342A, CHM616, CHM631, CHM646, CHM647, CHM 648, CHM651,
         CHM654, CHM668, CHM691

     2. MINOR IN ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
         Prerequisites: CHM101A, CHM102A
         Basket of courses: All the four courses are compulsory (a total 
4 courses).
         Compulsory courses: CHM203A, CHM202A, CHM301A, CHM302A

     3. MINOR IN PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY
         Prerequisites: CHM101 A, CHM102 A, CSO202A
         Basket of courses: any 4 courses from the following basket. The 
basket contains two department core courses, and selected electives:
         CHM321A, CHM322A, CHM621, CHM622, CHM626, CHM636, CHM637, CHM650,

Dear Y12 students,

Electrical Department is offering minors in the following 5 streams:

1. Microelectronics/Digital Systems
2. Power
3. Communications and Signal Processing
4. RF and Photonics
5. Controls

The exact list of courses for each minor are available in the attached
doc. In order to apply, you need to submit an application as follows -
clearly written letter with reason for wishing to pursue minor in EE -
print out of transcript up to this point i.e. 4 semesters Hard copy,
with your name, roll number, department and email id clearly written
over it, should be dropped in my mailbox. (2nd floor of ACES building,
Electrical department). No soft copies will be entertained. Please
complete the application process by Wednesday 30th July. Decision regarding
students to be admitted will be taken by the DUGC of EE.
