“Photography is the beauty of life captured.”
The Photography Club is a crew of shutterbugs whose mission is to preach, practise and master the art of photography for the shared benefit of the self as well as the campus community. The club has its own studio with a vast variety of equipment and boasts a bevvy of breathtaking pictures. At the Photography Club, we hold interactive lecture series and workshops for the beginners followed by fun photo-walks in and out of Kanpur. To make the amateurs comfortable with DSLR handling, we give them hands-on experience through the coverage of the most glamorous events in the fests that are conducted in the campus.
An annual exhibition is put up during Antaragni showcasing the ‘best of the best’ photos clicked by the campus community throughout the year. Some of the very renowned photographers (like the greatest street artist Vineet Vohra, the FIFA 2018 photographer Lopamdra Talukdar, and the world record holder Shobhit Tiwari) had visited us to share their experiences and teach us some of the latest techniques in the art.
Along with all the brainstorming and hard-work that we put into creating a photograph, we have a lot of fun. We have a Facebook group that you can join and post your clicks to get reviews and participate in the fruitful discussions and a page where we post the best of the club’s output. You need to have no prerequisite or additional equipment to join the club. The compassion and the enthusiasm from your side are enough to learn and click amazing photographs!
