The basic issue is that while the Gymkhana Blues award is meant for long lasting contributions to the Gymkhana, the nature of the award is such that it is unlikely to ever be awarded to someone like the Festival Coordinator of Antaragni simply because anything that he has contributed is unlikely to affect Antaragni much in the long term - it'll only affect it in a given year that the Coordinator was involved in, and hence they are unlikely to get Blues. 

The consequence is that we end up giving the Gymkhana Leadership Award to these people, instead of giving the award to people at the lower levels (coordinator level) who have exhibited desirable leadership qualities

urthermore, this award should also be open to General Secretaries, and coordinators of things like Josh, Galaxy etc
however, if the award is instituted, then for the leadership award, Festival Coordinators should be excluded just like Gymkhana Officebearers are
I suggest you send my proposal to that awards committee for blues and the faculty award
