Throughout the year students get involved in different types of business activities. During the summers also, we continues with such activities which you can see on "Projects" page. Different club-activities are mentioned following:
The club members actively engage themselves in thrills and chills of stock markets. They create dummy portfolios , invest in various stocks and track their investments. These members ( the stock group) meets weekly to discuss their their investments. Each member presents logic and statistics behind his/her decisions on various investments. The group dissolves when everyone agrees and the person with maximum market capitalization ( total value of its stocks in terms on money) emerges as the winner. The stock group for the year 2006-07 was formed in January.
It aims to introduce engineers to modern financial tools that are available to help them understand and analyze fundamentals in finance. The course teaches various financial tools used and their benefits. Emphasis will be on application part in the current business environment. Various topics to be covered include Financial Derivatives, Trading Strategies, Capital Markets, Security Analysis, Mutual Funds etc.
The course instructor is Mr. Kunal, a PhD student in the area of Finance. He is an M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA (Finance) (Gold Medalist)from IMI Delhi.
